I stopped bleeding from my miscarriage about 3 weeks ago and havent received my period yet, did I, or will I ovulate during this time? Does having my period tell me that my body is "normal" again?

Your period should return between 4-6 weeks after your miscarriage bleeding has stopped. You may or may not have ovulated. When your first period comes count back 14 days, thats when you ovulated. Then I suggest finding an online ovulation calcultor to help you figure out your cycle.

For example, I use www.4women.gov and find the dates for cycles between 28-34 days (because that's how much my periods have varied post miscarriages). I then use the pee-on-the-stick ovulation tests (Target Brand works great) during the days I've calculated for to see when I am ovulating. I also track my cycles in a notebook and how I feel as the cycle progresses.

So far I average about a 30 day cycle but sometimes my cycles vary. I've also found that some times my periods are light and not a big deal and other months they are heavy and not so fun. Every person is different, so don't freak out if your experiences are not like others.

And yes, when your period comes back you are "normal" again. Or as my OBGYN said you can start trying again.

Good luck with everything, I'm sorry you've had a miscarriage, know that you are not alone and many women share this experience with you, including myself.

I had a miscarriage 2 months ago. I got my first period all of a sudden, without any evidence of ovulation, exactly 1 month after my miscarriage. I was surprised it came! I recently ovulated normally. I am assuming I am back to normal.

After my miscarriage the DR had me come back for a couple of blood tests. It took 2 weeks to "clear" all the pregnancy hormones. Then she said I was good to try again.

a woman doesn't have a period unless they ovulate. Which is why cycles are so different. If you just had a miscarriage (sorry to hear that) but you will ovulate before you have a period. Best wishes to you. :)

yes, you should ovulate again. Your body might skip a cycle, or this cycle may be longer, but no matter what you will ovulate again before you have your period. Yes, it usually means that your body is back on cycle.
