I know what you mean by that question. I've never been a heavy smoker. I've quit and started up many times. I enjoy a few ciggarettes a day and don't plan on stopping any time soon. To answer your qusetion I know I'm addicted because I got to have one in the morning with my coffee and when I went through a nervous breakdown once I smoked like crazy.

If you think about them often and want them often and have a hard time not having one when you start thinking about them. My friends smoke after every time they eat so this would be a symptom of addiction or maybe a habit of addiction. Another way is that you would not be able to give them that easily you can't just put them down and walk away without wanting or thinking about them

You know you're addicted if you are still smoking them even though you know they are absolutely horrible for you, probably the single worst thing you can do to your body.

If you have a craving for them, that is the first sign of an addiction. The stronger the craving, the stronger the addiction.

If you light the next one off the last one, that's a good tip.

You smoke them.

Don't believe me? Simply stop smoking right now for an entire month.

Likely, you won't be able to do it.
