no it's scary. i've never done it before but it's best to relax and you push it towards the smalll of your back (the little indentation thingy above ur butt). or so i've heard.

No it's very normal to be uncomfortable the first couple times you do it. Here's a few tips: relax your muscles as you insert (that goes for anything that goes in there), start out with a "light" tampon (these are smaller width wise, which makes them easier to insert), where a pantie liner the first couple times you use a tampon (eventually you'll be able to tell when it's time to change the tampon, but it's better safe than sorry.) Hoped this helped.
When you do get used to tampons you'll probably never want to go back to pads. They are less messy, easier to carry, and you can go swimming with them.
The bacteria, or TSS, that people are talking about is not from inserting wrong. The odds are one in millions that you can get TSS and your odd are even more reduced if you make sure to change your tampon every 6 to 8 hours.

I was at first. It's normal to be afraid of it when you start to use tampons but you should become very comfortable with it after a short time. Tampons are the greatest.

No i deff was for the longest time. I guess the thought of it grossed me out and then thinking about it going to far (which it cant) or the string pulling off and never getting the tampon out. BUT then i just calmed down and tried again one day, its not so bad and ive never had a freak tampon accident. Maybe one day you wont be afraid. ;)

No. I've never used a tampon my whole life. Sometimes girls feel that you can do many things, like play sports or go swimming and still wear a tampon; so in someway, I guess that tampons are suitable in that aspect.
But sometimes, if not taken out regularly, tampons can carry bacteria and get you irritated. So, if you suddenly choose to use tampons, be careful of the odds of it. But, if you don't want to wear tampons, welcome to the club.

I tried inserting tampons b4 & they hurt. Be careful not to keep them in too long because they can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome. U should change them every 3 hrs. Pads are safer.

if you have just started you need to get used to it. I have used it from the start. I never liked pads they make you feel like you rather wear a diaper. Listen, it doesn't hurt. Get a mirror out or help your mom to make sure you feel comfortable. If you don't like it then use pads. Tampons are very safe. Just ask your mom for help. Good luck!

No! I was freaked out for the longest time.
Don't worry, you'll get to a point where you get sick of pads - you just have to relax (I know everyone says that).
A good brand to practice with is Tampx Pearl - they're smooth.

When I was younger I was afraid of them until I got the hang of them and then I never looked back. Pads are SOOOOO nasty.
