I'm sending a letter to a penpal in Japan, (I'm in US) just a 2 page letter, do I need to put extra stamps on it since it's going to another country, or do I only need extra postage if it's a heavy envelope? Thanks!

You need 84c in postage - any combination of stamps; they don't have to be special stamps. That's for 1 oz, which is usually about 4 pages plus a regular envelope. If you aren't sure, take it to the post office to be weighed. Other rate information can be found at www.usps.com.

Hi there, first you need a special stamp to send it to Japan. I would just take it into the post office and let them weigh it and see what they say. That is cool you have a pen pal in Japan. My sister may be moving there next year for a job, and it will be neat to know someone over there. =)
