I have to do it through the yahoo 360 edit page too.

You can add photos to your Yahoo 360 webpage, then choose to use your photo from that webpage as your avatar.

Here is how to add a picture from that page to your Yahoo! Answers profile:
Once you've uploaded your photo(s) to your 360 page, go into your Yahoo! Answers profile.
Click "Edit my info"
Under "Picture" there are three options: "No Picture", "Use my Yahoo! 360 picture" or "Use my Yahoo! Avatar."
Click "Use my Yahoo! 360 picture"
Click "Preview" to see that it worked
Click "OK" and you should be done.

Make a 360 page. You should have the option to do so under your profile. Then just upload your pics and select one to be you main pic and that will be your avatar. email me for help. It's kinda hard to explain it, it's easier to walk you through it.
