This can be a tiny task or starting a big project. I just let stuff pile up and it usually ends up costing me money or being more hassle in the end.

Obviously, I'm lazy - but any tricks for just taking that first step? I'm usually okay once underway.....

organize! with me. i dont just let everything pile up. i sort everything out by date (like the date its due or wutever). so wutevers closer is more important. just do it. get it over with. i think about wut im gonna do AFTER i finish and i HATE being stressed and worried so i just do it.

my biggest procrastination issue is cleaning. I HATE CLEANING!!
the only rationale that helps me wash dishes or wipe counters is that i love having a clean house. my health is seriously affected by dust and random particles in the air. i can go from asthma attack to pneumonia in a matter of days. so as much as i hate getting my hands dirty with cleaning i know that i'll have everything dirty if i don't clean. so i break out the vaccuum and the dustcloth and the bottle of clorox clean-up and hit every surface of my home. when its done i have a little while to enjoy being lazy, and i feel great about being in a clean home.
its pathetic that i only clean so that i don't have to clean anymore but its my only inspiration.
i think that's the only way to break procrastination habits. you have to think of what is worse than handling the task. if you procrastinate at school then the worse situation would be bad grades and a poor future. if you procrastinate at work then you have to deal with an idiot boss riding your a$$. there are worse things than getting to work.

There are no easy ways out. When you have to do something you don't want to, it's not fun, sorry. I can be lazy too, and that's why I try to get every ting done as soon as I possibly can. It's not because I'm so eager, it's because I dint' want to Dal with the stress of having things pile up.

I used to be like this in college. Try to approach it a little at a time so you don't feel overwhelmed. Then again, you can always pull that all-nighter!

When my wife says she is going to hire someone to do what she has been nagging me to do for say, six months.

No problem for work related stuff-that's what I was hired to do.

Tell people that you're going to do it. Make it too embarassing to not do it.
