I love any book by james patterson, but if you read his alex cross series you have to read them in order"
1 Along Came a Spider
2 Kiss the Girls
3 Jack & Jill
4 Cat & Mouse
5 Pop Goes the Weasel
6 Roses Are Red
7 Violets are Blue
8 Four Blind Mice
9 The Big Bad Wolf
10 London Bridges
11 Mary, Mary
Also so if you read the womens murder club read them in this order
1st to Die
2nd Chance
3rd Degree
4th of July
The 5th Horseman
All of his books are really good. he has a few love stories like
Sam's Letters to Jennifer
Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas
I think I read those each in one sitting.
if you are looking for quirky love stories try Harlequin Flipside books they are awesome and short

door to december by dean koontz is an excellent book. kept me very interested until the end and that's hard to do.
Synopsis:
Little Melanie had been kidnapped when she was only three. She was nine when she was found wandering the L.A. streets, with blank eyes. What had become of her in all those years of darkness...and what was the terrible secret, clutching at her soul, that she dared not even whisper? Her loving mother and the police desperately hunted for the answer. They needed Melanie to help get to the bottom of the most savage scene of carnage the city had ever seen. And they would do anything to save her from whatever dreadful force or thing had invaded her young life. But first they would have to save themselves from a rising tide of terror...and from an icy evil howling through- the Door to December.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a very good book for mature young girls, teens, and women. As are the sequel and three-quel.
One of my favorite books for women is Daddy's Little Girl by Mary Higgins Clark.

If you like fantasy type stuff, read anything by Denns L. McKiernan, or Robert Jordan or Diana Pharaoh Francis.

If you like Harry Potter, give King Fortis the Brave and Eragon a try. They are both great - full of humor and non-stop action. They'll keep you turning the pages!

ok, i have a few suggestions, but it depends on the subject that you like to read. for mystery, Sue Grafton's "A is for Alibi", for scary, Stephen King's "Cell", for funny, Nina Killham "How to Cook a Tart", for magic, Philip Pullman "The Golden Compass" (it's the 1st book in a trilogy), for sexy, "The Best American Erotica 2003" edited by Susie Bright.
i have read all these and they are my favorites from each category.
