Could volunteers, those who need exercise, convicted prisoners, (public officials),walk around pumpimg water for the good of their community? Wouldn't it save a lot of money to set up Water Wheels everywhere? don't you wanna, wanna....

Ummm.... water wheels might be fun for some sort of outdoor water feature or fountain or something, but the pumps used for municipal water delivery systems are made of stainless steel, and they are part of closed systems so the water won't be contaminated and can't be (easily) tampered with. I don't think anybody in their right mind would want their drinking water pumped by a water wheel. Now a turbine to generate electricity, that might work.

where is this water going, what are they pumping for? I would put them on one of those rodent wheels ( like hamsters and Guinea pigs have ) to produce energy, but I'm not getting the water thing?
