I have halo 1 and 2 and i dont really see anything special about the game or the multiplayer.
Instead i find Battlefield 2 and Call of Duty more entertaining because they got everything you will like to see in a game.
Whats really so special about the halo game anyway explain?

its mostly xbox fanboys who build them up
there are many better games on the xbox but some freakos just love microsoft too much

First the game is fairly simple to hop in and play w/o much tutoring. The multi-player modes are some of the best for 3 or more players and the X-Box Live features allow you to extend the gameplay time well past that of other similar games. The problem with the Live gameplay now is that you run into some foul mouthed kid who is intent on making everybody hate them. If you need a two word answer though that is simple: sticky grenades.

Because not only does it have an awesome story line and graphics. But the gameplay is awesome and most of all the controls make the game. few other FPS game I've played have come close to the ease of mastering the controls to be able to pull of some awesome moves. Its alot more fast paced than most shooters as well. its also more of an arcade shooter whereas battlefield 2 and Call fo duty are alittle more realistic.

The game engine and unique features is the main thing that I like. You dont just press a button and POOF! your in a car, you have to CLIMB in and out and you can hijak them which is both AWESOME! you also dont have to spend too much time worrying about your health because of the recharging shields which is actually very balanced and fun.
The graphics aren't bad either but It also has sticky grenades, which are more fun than you can imagine.
And finally, the environmental interaction of Halo 2 is really cool.
Halo 1 was fun but Halo 2 is even more fun! and it makes great Machinima too.
OH! and I can't forget the easter eggs that bungie puts in them! =)

they are good because it is actually the first game that debut on the xbox
the graphics are good, multiplayer provide more options and the story line is interesting
it wasnt about popularity, it was about making a kick *** game for people everywhere and thats what they did. Watch the documentary disc provided by halo 2 special edition
