It's not a bad question to ask. I'm from the Appalachian Mountains, and I still cringe when people mispronounce the name. However, I doubt that most people would care how you pronounce it as long as it's recognisable. I suppose that it only matters if you are trying to not stick out, but that's fixable if you ever go there.

I've been traveling the CarriBEAN for many years and I'm apt to say it either way.
No one ever pays attention when I'm in the Carr-i-b-e-an as to how I say that particular word - the people who live there pronounce it both ways.

You look generalising about Africans. I artwork with some Africans and some ought to correctly be abrupt at the same time as they communicate which will look rude, even if it is merely their way and it is not any longer meant to be an illustration of disrespect. countless the Africans I artwork with are really uncomplicated going and there is one African lady at artwork i hit upon very eye-catching. She's really no longer gruesome.

I don't think the people down island really care, but I noticed that I tend to say CarRIBbean when I am using it as an adjective and CariBEan when I am using it as a noun. I have no idea why.
