chameleons dont really change purple when they are put on something purple, they just have different variations of green and when they get mad they go kinda reddish

It will try to attack its reflection, especially if its a male chameleon since they are terretorial reptiles

Its current colour. ....red is common.
Also many animals know they are going to die.hence they take off...eg Elephants often are found at their "burial" grounds....where they go to die.
