honestly, everywhere is fun in San Fran. that city is filled with awesome, cheap things to do. if you have to stay near the bridge (i am assuming you are talking about the Golden Gate Bridge) then i suggest you walk across the bridge. great views, and it is pretty cool when you feel the bridge swaying underneath you. also, there is a park right there at the bridge that you can walk through. OR, if you have a chance, go to Fisherman's Wharf. lots of shops, and some great food. if you like clam chowder, that is the place to get it. too bad you can only be there for one day... ENJOY!

You could go to Golden Gate Park, on Saturday's they block the main drive to car traffic. It's pretty, the conservatory is newly re-opened and is really pretty and only $5 to get in. The New DeYoung just opened too, it's about $10 I think, or you cold just wander around the park, if you decide on the latter, the arboretum is really pretty and free (they do accept donations). You could also hang out in the Haight and browse and people watch, it's a popular street and funky and fun. It's next to the park too. On weekends parking can be tough in the neighborhood, not so bad on the weekends.

I Guess you have got most of your answers, Golden Gate Bridge, Park, Fisherman;s Warf, North Beach and Chinatown.
Things I would add to that are Pier 39, Crooked Street and the cable car ride.
Check it out you can have a lot of FUN Chilling out in San Fran.

Which Bridge? You've got two of them!
Golden Gate Park-The Haight:
Walk around or rent some bikes and cruise around Golden Gate Park. Check out "Hippie Hill" and get in on a drum circle. After that, stroll down Haight St. and people watch. Stop in for nosh at a burrito joint like El Balazo. Walk down to the lower part of Haight Street called "Lower Haight" and have a pint of lager or ale at the Toronado.
Bike: $7
Lunch: $6
Pint: $5
The Mission:
Maybe take the bus down to Valencia and 16th St. to window shop and people watch in the heart of the Mission. Take a peek at Mission Dolores and Dolores Park. Take the J Church to the Embarcadero and walk along the waterfront.
Bus: $1.50
Fisherman's Wharf:
Check out the Seals at Pier 39. Then leave. Don't be tempted by Pier 39's cheesy shops. Head up a few hundred yards to the real Fisherman's Wharf. and grab a bit of fresh cracked crab, French Bread and butter from a vendor along the waterfront. Take it up to Aquatic Park a bit further north and enjoy.
Seals: Free
Crab: $5
North Beach:
If there is time, walk about 20 minutes up Columbus (or take the 30 Stockton bus) to Washington Sq. Park and kick back. It's relaxing and picturesque with views of Coit Tower and St. Peter and Paul's church. Then stroll up Union St. to the shops along Grant Ave. You're in the heart of North Beach. Cross Columbus and windowshop in Chinatown.
Chinatown:
Double back down Stockton for cheap eats at Yuet Lee (Stockton & Broadway). It's cheap and good. If you wanna mix with the hipsters from Chinatown-Russian Hill, then head out to cocktails at Easy Five ( http://www.sfstation.com/ez5-b2230 ). Down one or two and call it a day.
Dinner: $10
Drinks: $5 ea.
Less than $40 for a day of fun in SF ain't bad. Less if you're not drinking.
