Put baners on your website, so you make money when people click on them.
Check out http://www.google.com/adsense/ it's quick and easy and it does look nicer then other providers.

If you have a private web-page you can regiser at some big online shop like www.amazon.com (for example) and put a baner on your site. Then you may ask friends of you who use the shop to visit them trough your site, so you get money when the buy something.

Unless you are specifically selling a product or service, the usual method is to convince some sponsors that if they put up banners they will get customers. The calculation that sponsors will look for to confirm this is called the banner refresh rate. If that rate is high it means people are hanging out at the site, refreshing the page often, and according to the theory of advertisement, their product banner is getting exposure.

Personally I find all this a little impractical and meanignless unless you think you can get literally tens of thousands of hits a day on the site.

Otherwise, most personal websites function like floating business cards. I maintain my site not because it will make me money directly, but because a) in my line of work, it serves as a portfolio and b) it's relatively cheap to maintain, so why not?

The percentage of websites that generate a profit, unless they are part of a huge corporate identity, is negligable.

If you want to make money, you have to sell something - products, advertising space, a service etc.

If you have a product to sell, set up an ecommerce site and if your product is good enough and marketed well enough people will buy it.

You could also sell advertising space on your site, if you have a lot of site traffic and companies are interested in your target audience.

Providing a service to people, there are many examples out there - weather forecasts, translation, etc., etc.

You don't have to look hard to see that most of the obvious things have already been done on the internet - to make money, you'll have to be original and do something that nobody else has done yet.

Just about everyone uses Google adsense which allows you to paste a code into your website from which you will earn money on a per click basis. Content sites are starting to let you post your adsense code into any content you post also. You need to sign up on the offical google website though. Takes about 3 days to get approved.

Try oppening an internet store. It's the best way always. Selling advertisment (banners, ads on your site is a good idea too). Try ADSENSE if you have much traffic.

Incorporation is need for several reasons: + ownership of assets (like your website) + personal liability protection +income tax exemption I would strongly suggest that you get incorporated ASAP ... it will cost you less than 600$ and will save you a tone of headaches later on. good luck!
