i believe it is the african dwarf frog that you are after.
however not to be mixed up with the african clawed frog, which some pet shops do....
the difference one is peaceful (dwarf) and one once bigger will attack and try and eat tankmates (clawed)
from personal experience, if you do decide to own dwarf frogs i really wouldnt house them with any other fishes, apart from maybe something small like neon tetras, white cloud moutain minnows and danios. The reason? when ive had mine in the past other bigger fish such as mollies, tetras and catfish have bullied the frogs and not aloud them any food stuff that i have put in especially for the fish....hence evetually the poor froggies die of starvation...
they are also very good climbers, and although normally life quite happy submerged in water all day, will occasionally find ledges and if close enough to an unsealed tank lid will escape!.

I think it's the African Dwarf Frog. I used to have those. It can be kept in at least a 5-gallen tank. Don't put it with anything that will eat them. I think that the crabs will eat the frog. Ask your local pet store for more information.

"The smallest frog in the Southern Hemisphere is the Gold Frog, or Brazilian Psyllophryne Didactyla."

"Equally small is the smallest frog in the Northern Hemisphere, only recently discovered (1996) in Monte Iberia, Cuba. It doesn't have a common name yet, but its scientific name is Eleutherodactylus iberia."
