I really dont like it, but dont like the idea of it being illegal, beacuse then we would have a ton of people doing it themselves not only killing the babies but harming themselves as well.I also hate the thought of a 13 yr old kid being raped, getting pregant and being forced to keep the kid, thats messed up.So all in all its the womans choice

Abortion is almost always WRONG. I have heard all the arguments.

"It's a woman's right" (haven't seen such a right in the US Constitution). "It's only a lump of cells." "It isn't alive" are the most popular of the "Pro-Choice" crowd.

Meanwhile, the "Pro-Life" crowd says it's God's will that there shouldn't be any abortions.

Quite frankly, none of those arguments do anything for me.

Is there something that all people of good will can agree upon? Perhaps it is this. An innocent human life should not be taken without just cause.

One may argue about the morality of killing during a war. Or if there should be the death penalty for people convicted of murder. And there is self-defense. I think that just about covers it.

Your neighbor plays his TV too loud at 3 AM? Not a reason to kill him. Your boss won't give you a raise? Not a reason to go postal (I used to work at the USPS during my college days).

You're not ready to be a parent? I guess that's the question here.

Certainly, except where the life of the mother is in serious danger from the pregnancy, none of those arguable cases applies. For example, if she is a diabetic and the pregnancy might destroy her kidneys, then I think it should be up to her.

Well then, why do I say the abortion is wrong most of the time? Simple. I was born in January. Working backwards, I guess that I was conceived about the early part of April of the previous year.

I am now an old f@rt. I claim to be human. I claim the right to be not terminated without just cause as stated above.

My DNA is the same as when I was 12 years old. Same person, different package. It's the same as when I was 3 1/2. Same person, different package. It's the same as when I was born. SPDP. It's the same as when I was just conceived. SPDP.

Unless you think that I am not a person now, I was also a person that April many years ago. I claim for that person the same rights to Life, Liberty and Property that the Constitution gives to me today.

OK here goes, I am personally against abortion for myself. I could never live with myself, but I am pro-choice and believe that woman should have the right to have an abortion if that is what they choose.

I don't think that a person should be forced to bring another person into this world if they choose not to for whatever the reason. I believe in this as strongly as I believe in the concept of freedom of speech.

I do believe that too many young girls are having abortions and are not emotionally stable enough to handle the consequences of there actions, and I think this happens mostly because parents don't want to deal with subjects like sex, pregnancy and aids at home, and would rather have the belief that "it won't happen to my family"

I believe abortions should be aloud. What if there is some pregnant 15 year old whos body can't handle the child. And think of all those children who come into the world unwanted. I think the choice for abortion is for the mother to decide not the goverment. Some may want to give it up for adoption but some don't want to have the child because they could end up dead if having it.

I think in certain cases it should be allowed while not in others. As far as government control of abortion...this country was set up in the idea that the people and the states were to be more powerful than the federal, so maybe the states should be allowed to decide whether or not to keep it legal.

I don't agree with abortion as a convenient form of birth control. If you were stupid enough not to at least TRY safe sex, then you should have to live with the consequences or at least give the child up to a family who needs him/her. However, I'm not opposed to abortion when there is proof that the child will be born with severe illness and/or deformity or if the life of the mother is at stake or if the mother was sexually assaulted. I don't think that abortion should be illegal though. It should be a personal moral decision.

I wish people would not abort their fetus, but I would not want to force them into having an unwanted child. I would be condemning a newborn to hell on earth; I am not that cruel. Besides, I understand Christ's teaching, to mean I should not force my beliefs on other people. If they do wrong, it is up to God to punish them, and not me. And he does, when a mother aborts a fetus, her chance for new life is taken: what greater punishment is there.

On a side note: Would you take a look at about 8 - 10 minutes of this interview with Professor Steven Jones ? It's a 45 minute video and well worth looking at, to its end. At the very least, pass it on to those you care about.

I'm Pro-Choice, BUT, I think there needs to be a cut off, where they say, I'm sorry your too far along! The cut off should be at about 5 months, because by this time baby is STARTING to get to the point where with intensive care it could survive, and by five months the baby is for the most part conscious and therefore a living human being. And lets face it, if you haven't figured out by the fifth month you don't want the baby then you aren't going to, and if you did have one it would probably be a mistake you would regret. But before five months I think a woman should have the right to choose. technically before five month its not even really human, it just a mass of cells.

i am a flaming liberal with in all respects but gun control and abortion.
THIS is where me and my pot smoking buddies disagree .
I have taken the time to look into life and where it begins .
THIS is from the moment of conception .IT is not a miricle from GOD or the creation of the soul or any garbage like that but it is the beggining of a long life.
WOMEN must be held accountable for this new life and the moment an expectant mother needs care she should have it and follow every bit of current medical knowledge we have .
no smoking no more then a half glass or so of wine .NO drugs that have been shown to cause birth defects .
every effort must be made to insure the healthy birth of this new person .THE state can offer to purchase the children for 30,000 a piece and raise them as they see fit .
MY idea would be use these un wanted children as our first line of defense . SOLDIERS we educate and train them from birth to defend america .

I believe abortion is a horrible and horrendous thing but should be legal but with restrictions(something like 1st trimester only). I do believe in freedom of choice and am sick and tired of anti-abortion activists equating pro-choice with pro-abortion. Pro-choice does not mean that you are a baby killer or like baby killers, that is just rediculous. I hope you don't think this way. It is an ignorant and foolish thing to say or think.
