A fun and informative book would be: "Why do Men Have Nipples" by Mark Leyner.

I like reading YA books. Some of my favorites have already been listed. But I'll second the recommendation for Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. That would be a really good book to start reading now, so you'll be ready for the sequel, New Moon, when it comes out. (Some sites say August; other sites say September). But Meyer is an incredible author.

To read my review of Twilight:

Just Listen is the latest Sarah Dessen book. And it was quite good. Although my favorite still remains The Truth About Forever.

Scott Westerfeld is great. I love his Uglies trilogy.

Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta is good.

Looking for Alaska by John Green is good.
