He is 21, and paranoid schizophrenic. Last year, he threw a log through someone' s car window. He was arrested, and his father had him "Bakerized." He was diagnosed 2 or 3 times with schizophrenia.
He was on probation for almost a year, in and out of mental hospitals and county jail. About 3 months ago, he bought a gun, and told his friends that he had one. Someone turned him in.
I haven't heard from him, since he got arrested. I had been getting calls from him about every 2 weeks before, so he could tell me a bunch of BS about how great his life was.
I found out that he was sentenced to 15.5 months in state pen in Florida, but I don't know where or when it starts.
Does anyone have any information about the system in Florida.or how to find out where my son is.
I'd really appreciate some information, and not mean comments. This whole thing has been heart-breaking for him and his whole family. I'd like to know if there is a support group out there for families. Thanks

Try this website www.dc.state.fl.us and do an offender search under inmate population and you should be able to find out which prison he was sent to. That is if he has already left county jail to begin his sentence. Hope this helps.

well when someone first goes in to the prison system they are held in a temporary place for a few weeks. While they are here they can not make any phone calls or write letters. After these few weeks they are usually shipped to the prison they will do their time at. At this time they can start calling and writing and setting up visits. If you want more info on FL you should try searching the web for FL state corrections, I am sure you will find a list of prisons and other resources.
