Wolves... because they are absolutely incredible animals, they hunt in packs, can take down prey 3-4 times thier size and eat up to 10 lbs of meat at once!! then they dont have to eat for 1-2 weeks! They have a social hierarchy that is very complicated along with a wide variety of communication skills, I especially like thier body language...so ritualized and formal! Also thier howl is a sound that leaves NO ONE unaffected, sends shivers down the spine and strikes awe, respect and yes, fear into your heart! They are so maligned and misunderstood, but I am so grateful they are there they gave mankind possibly our greatest gift... Canis Lupus Domesticus!! the domestic dog! I dont think we could ever repay them enough for that....how many blind or deaf people would really be living full lives without them? and how many lives have they saved?? Wolves are the epitomy of wild animals..they embody all that is unknown and all that is mysterious and can strike awe into the hearts of all wth thier cunning and beauty!!

TIGER - A powerful hunter with sharp teeth, strong jaws, and an agile body, the tiger is the largest member of the cat family (Felidae). It is also the largest land-living mammal whose diet consists entirely of meat. The tiger's closest relative is the lion. Without the fur, it is difficult to distinguish a tiger from a lion, but the tiger is the only cat with striped fur.they are simply awesome

The horseshoe crab. An often overlooked creature but very cool. Its blood is blue! How fantastic is that BLUE BLOOD! It has copper instead of iron to carry oxygen. Another thing about the horseshoe crab that is great is that it has not changed its design in hundreds of millions of years! It has outlasted almost everything else and is so cool looking with its shell and tail.
I also like monkeys and apes. Humans are a great animal too with so many great features like bipedal locomotion, language, material culture, opposable thumbs and, of course, boobies.

Sea Otters, perhaps the cutest animal around, you ever seen them eat a clam? Very intelligent too using tools to open the clams (well a rock) plus learnt to just float the day away in the sea wrapped in kelp when no playing (sometimes with toys they find), they also have the thickest fur in the animal kingdom so they must be great :o)

Not too amny people say invertebrates as their favorites, but I would have to say that centipedes are definately one of my favorites. They are swift effective hunters and have remained virtually unchanged for millions of years. I have worked with them before and they are simply fascinating. (Scolopendra heros) is probably my favorite species.
I attached a picture of one here, have a look you might like it. You really have to see beyond the venomous bite and armoured legs to see the true beauty...haha
you are actually very pretty by the way!
Hope this is a good enough answer!

I agree with Fletcheyc the Otter is intellegent.
But my absolute favorite is the Lion. He leads his Pride (Group of Lions) with unflinching authority. When the pride hunts they ambush medium/large prey into the waiting paws of males. They are proud beasts. Unfortunately, today fewer than 21,000 in all of Africa. Almost all beautiful wild animals are on the endangered species list in which we should SAVE. We need to save our wild animals!!

Giraffe ... their height and weight keep most predators away ... they're only really in danger when they're babies, and when they're drinking water ... which they usually do in groups.
A Giraffe's foot is the size of plate and can crush a lion ... so lion's only attack helpless giraffes ... they've got a great overview of all the stuff happening on the safari ... and they're tall and graceful.

My favorite animal is the Killer Whale, and this is because they are at the top of the food chain. They eat everything, from fish to whales. Besides, they are beautiful animals.

The wolf. There is just something about seeing a pair of eyes on a wolf that is way too powerful to me.
