what happened?

I am a 38 yr old male living in upstate NY. I am healthy and in my opinion not a "hottie" but I have a golden heart. I really enjoy meeting people online and chatting on messenger...it to me seems like a good way to pass the time when i don't feel like going out. But recently I had something happen that I don't understand. I met this woman, I think, online and I sent her my pic. Up to this point, we seemed to be getting along and everything was fun, but then she asked how old I was and I told her. She hung up on me. No explanation at all. It would not have hurt my feelings if she said that i was way too old to be chatting with her, but she didn't, she just hung up and that was that. Is this how things are? If you don't like someone, you don't say anything, you just cut the tie all at once and be done with it? Maybe I am old fashioned, but I think an explanation would have been nice. Am I wrong? thank you for your input.

Think of it this way,maybe it was a kid,or at least underage,or maybe still wet behind the ears,anyways people like this are afraid to explain themselves so they just hang up.Thats why they meet on the net,no strings attached and end it however and whenever they want to.Sorry this happened to you,but dont take it personally.People with good hearts get stomped on all the time.LOL I know i am one of those people getting stomped.LOL Good luck God bless;O)

Chances are you were conversing with a minor. And when you told them your age, they "freaked" out. But if the person was an adult and hung up just because of the age thing, then I agree, its rude. An explanation was definitely in order. There are a lot of strange people out here. I wouldn't take anything too serious. Just have fun. By the way, love your picture.

No, you're not wrong. I agree, I do believe myself that you should get explanations. I broke up with two guys in my past, and gave them both reasons. I mean, if I was dumped, I would want one. Maybe she jus' couldn't handle your age. Was she pretty young? Most younger girls get scared off by certain ages. There are probably a bunch of reasons why she hung up. But, yeah, I agree, she should of gave you an explanation on why she hung up. I know I"m not much help, I jus' wanted you to know that someone agrees with ya. =D

no u r not wrong to feel that way 38 isn't that old at all and that women was rude to think so she could of something like i like younger men or your too old for me u r so right in many ways but it seem s that the people of today r rude and ruder

Your not wrong, that was rude of her. Any girl with any decency at all would have told you that you were to old for her. Are you absolutely sure she hung up on you instead of maybe her phone died, or lost signal. I would figure that out before any snap judgement is made. :)

I'm sorry that happened and you seem like a nice guy.i wouldn't worry about it so much,but i do understand where you coming from.I think age should not matter,and if it does there's no reason to just hang up on you with no explanation.i wish you the best in luck..
