Well I have been a mechanic for over 30 years, and until the age of the cars computer it was a mechanic.
Now that the computer has come onto the seen, a person now is considered an auto technician.
In my way of thinking since I received more training in and on the cars computers, I call myself and auto mechanic technician.
To me a mechanic is a person that can make a repair with little or no effort.
A technician is a person that can find out what went wrong, why it went wrong and also now make the repair
