I am at the library rite now. I get my movies here, and do my computer things here. Oh yeah, the pictures on my wall came from the one downtown. As I told you in my answer to your other question, I eat cheap. I bought a years pass to my local state park, so I can go there when I am anxious to spend money, or do drugs. I dont think downgrading your car is a good option. If you want to sell anything, do it on ebay.
I try to avoid giving buisnesses my money. Granted I have to most the time. Just think, like where do they get it, Can I get it there for what they pay? A buisness is where someone is trying to "Big boy" a resource or product and make a living off of it. Kind of like a fence around a bannana tree and a buch of goons around the weakling with the key. I like ebay a lot.
I have many more things I cant think of off hand.
I was raised rich also.
I used to read books about minamilists when I was in high school.
People are very rude about this lifestyle, but I just try to keep like some native american, buddah idea in my head when they get in my face.
oh -- coupons! use coupons.

1. Think about how often you go shopping. Then cut that number down by about half. 2. When you grocery shop, avoid getting sugary things that you don't need (like pop-tarts, kool-aid, cookies) 3. Try cutting down on how much you cook (instead of cooking a feast, cook just enough to get full) 4. Save any leftovers and eat them the next day until you run out of that food. 5. Sorry, but don't go to the movies. 6. You might have to cut cellphone lines. 7. When you're done using an electric thing, turn it off after you're done (like say you're watching tv, turn it off sooner rather than later.) 8. I know winter is cold, but if you use the heater a lot then the gas bill is going to be super high. Instead, bundle up in coats. 9. Get the whole family aware and involved.

Shop around (clothes, groceries, insurance). Don't eat out or at least cut back to 1 day/week. Clip coupons & USE them but only on items you would normally buy anyway. Try out some off-brands. Kroger brand anything is just as good as name brand. Carpool to work a couple times per week. If you have a cell phone, get rid of your land line. Chances are you're using the cell mostly anyway. Set your thermostat on a comfortable setting & leave it there. Shut lights off when you leave a room. Shut the vents in rooms you don't use. I could go on & on. I'm a mother of 3 & always looking for ways to save money.

Aside from all the other answers, cook all your meals at home and without any meat. I'm not a vegetarian and love meat, but you would be suprised how much you save if you cut meat out of the majority of your meals. It will also help you lose wieght (if you need to) truth be told I don't know how much you wiegh.

Give up you morning corner coffee shop latte, and prep it at home.
Brown bag your lunch.
Ask yourself Do I have one or more of these? before buying anything. Then leave it if you do.
Some store-name products are as good as the brand name ones; try them.
Plan your errands, so that you complete them on the same trip and spend less gas.
Hope this helps!

Purchase a fuel efficient car and sell the old one. Pay all your bills as soon as you get them. Reserve $100 a week for food and $20 a week for entertainment. If it isn't necessary, do not purchase it.

Don't consume.
Don't buy anything for one whole month except the bare necessities of eating and sanitation.
I hear it is VERY theraputical.
