Safe, cheap, effective and with no more effort than any other suggestion,,, Mineral Spirits. Wet a cloth, apply it to the adhesive, let soak a sec, wipe or scrape, let dry use windex after.

Just a few new single egde razor blades . Make sure there new and use a new one often to avoid scratches.
