Don't take it personally. Most men (and women) do that. With his case, if he said he had to use the bathroom and was unable to, masturbation is a form to make (clear) the urethra so he would be able to. For a woman, it would be the same as having to use the bathroom (which is highly recommended after sex to avoid urinary tract infections), but unable to go when you get there. Sexually, when you do climax again, it does (for men) clear the passage for them to urinate.
Maybe in your boyfriend's case, he was able to climax more quickly by himself when there is no worries of making sure you were being satisfied too.
I would not put too much thought into it. Remember, there is a reason why he is still your boyfriend of two years. If there was a problem of this nature before, you would have known about it before. But to ease your mind from worrying, just talk to him. Chances are this is all a misunderstanding.

There are a few reasons.
First, and this one is relatively normal – is that no mater how long you have been dating, your boyfriend has been having a relationship with his hand for even longer. It is a strong relationship, they get along well, he doesn’t have to buy his hand dinner, and he doesn’t have to make sure that his hand is satisfied. His hand never has a headache, and is always available. His hand always puts out, and never complains about the porn he likes, and doesn’t complain when it gets covered in ejaculate. Another issue is routine. Girls in a long relationship stop trying to please their boyfriends. They wear the ugly cotton panties, they have the set pattern that they follow, and a lot of the spice is missing – a LOT of girls act as if they don’t want to have sex. Why go through all the effort of getting a seemingly reluctant girl in the mood when the hand is ready and willing, and excited to get it on without the effort?
So a couple of the many reasons why a guy would rather hang out by himself rather than be with his girlfriend – are convenience and shame. His hand is convenient, and his girlfriend has shamed him.

Masturbation after sex is not a good thing to do. When a considerable quantity of semen is released at the final stage of sex, no one finds it necessary for masturbation. Either he might have found insufficiency of sex or he must be suffering from some psychological sexual imbalance. It is better he gets some counselling from a sexologist.

There can be many reasons: he likes his hand pressure, he feels he needs more variety, he can't satisfy you as he thinks he should or it can simply be as he stated. Ask him and talk about both your needs and his needs. Maybe you can masterbate each other for a change of pace and spice.
