Why do they have plus size sections for women but not men?

I know there are speciality stores just for men who wear bigger sizes, but in your average store, you don't see a special section just for them...it's included with the other men's clothing. So why do they have a section for plus size women but not men?

The marketing trend is to appeal to impulse shoppers. Women are more likely to buy something they like because it's there more so than men. Men usually don't shop for themselves either. (They wait to get stuff for the holidays ;-) and as my mother says "wait for clothes to fall off before conceding they need new stuff." The few times men go shopping for themselves, they will go to their favorite place and be done with it. Of course, this does not apply to ALL men or ALL women, but it's generally how the Marketing technique works.

Woman will always be worried about their appearance more than men even when they're bigger. They know that if they make a special section for them they will more likely come buy the hottest item in their size. When men get that big they dont really care much about their appearance and a special section set aside for them wouldn't mean anything, its a wasted advertisement.

Yes! Men don't have to be seen in the BIG section. They just put the 2-4x sizes at the end of the rack for them. And it is ok to be seen in a Big and Tall man shop but women should never have excess weight!Good question!

Where do you shop...?
All mens clothes are "plus sized" already.
Try to find a 32 regular in the mens section or medium anything.
FYI the 2xl's and 4xl's are at the front of the rack.
And anyone who goes to a big and tall is still a "freak"

Because the sheer volume of types and styles of women's clothing is more than men's. It's easier to absorb the "big and tall" sizes into the mens section without it being huge.

First, men don't shop as much. Secondly, you need to go to a "big and tall" shop. Or try shopping from catalogs if you know your size. Do a search for catalogs that carry big sizes for men. I'm sure they exist.
