At the moment a large hairy spider appears to be threatening me, then death is not a consideration, unless it was possible to be bitten and poisoned by the spider.
So at the time I'm being afraid of a spider, that very moment, I'm more afraid of it than death.
I'm not afraid of death per se, but perhaps more afraid of the manner of my passing.
I would wish all a peaceful death, after a long life well lived.

Spiders can cause death. I have always just swatted them until two weeks ago when my husband almost died because of one. His hand swelled up and put was everywhere. So now spiders and death are the same.

I'm afraid of big spiders, like a tarantula. But honestly, I'm not afraid to death or of a spider. I'm afraid of pain.

Well, probably yes, because I'm not afraid of death, I'm just unsure of it. If I knew for a fact I was going to eternal bliss when I died, I would probably kill myself then and there.
Spiders aren't too bad. I think they're cool.
It's flies that I hate.

No, because I'm more afraid of lizards than of spiders, and more afraid of poisonous snakes that can kill me than of lizards... Therefore, if fear of lizars>fear of spiders, and fear of snakes>fear of lizards, I'm more afraid of death than of spiders.
