She is from peru. She is now living in England and is about to become an english citizen. Once she is an english citizen, will it be a problem for her to return to the United States after she had lived here illegally. She actually left in 1998. Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

I would say if she was here illegally the first time and was undectected there should be no record of her being here illegally. I think once she has become a Brittish Citizen she will be able to come here with the same rights as all british citizens and that is stay up to 3 months, no work without visa, etc.

If she's going through the proper (and only legal) channels, then there will be a problem. I did it a few years ago and the consulate offices need your old passports and proof of every detail of every aspect of your life so they can triple check it all. If you weren't working, they still need proof of residency, school records, etc.. dozens of packets of paperwork in triplicate. Truly a nightmare. If she was ever illegal, don't bother. There are 10 million others out there every year who have spotless records and will go before her.

As an english citizen, I don't think you need a visa to enter the country. You'll just need an english passport.

If she left before coming to the attention of the US Government, she shouldn't have much problem getting back in legally. If she was deported before, she will not be allowed to return.
