Im a single parent with 3 kids and to make ends meet I have no choice but to work as a result I have to put my 4 year old into private nursery, the funding provided by the Government does bring the cost down a bit during school term. I have just received Augusts bill but no funding has been deducted as the school term starts August 22nd when I asked them about it they said that as there is only a week left in August the funding will start in September, can they do that? I always thought that nurseries were automatically sent the funding monies and no matter how many days or weeks left everyone should benefit from this. Is there someone who can help as I think £514 is a lot to pay without any funding. I paid Julys fees, I didnt think I'd have to pay the full whack for August.

If you are receiving nursery education funding it only applies for 38 weeks of the year, ie the school term.... so this may be the problem...

You might be out of luck but contact your MP. Use www.faxyourmp.com to send a free Fax to you MP who should reply quickly (usually within 2 weeks). As they are currently on holiday they won't be holding surgeries so this might be the quickest way of getting some help.

Good luck.

Have you no-one to help you with your children? If you can study you will eventually get a better job and you may get grants for this. You could also organise a group of friends and help each other out.particularly at holiday time.
