I'm somewhat curious of the entire thing, many times (such as my Jr College) the classes REQUIRED for an associate degree, DONT transfer into a 4 year university, or not all of them do. When I end up getting my AS, I'll end up having to probably go though another 3-4 years to get my BS in Computer Science. Associate degrees aren't required to start a bachelors program...so what’s the dilio?

If you are planning to go on for a 4 year degree, you should have consulted with the University to see what transfers and then only take those classes.

Not everyone wants to or can go further. For these people, an Associates gives them a leg up on those with only a HS diploma.

some do it to save money, other people do it because they slacked off so much in high school they couldn't get into a real college so they have to do an associates at a JUCO to maybe get a chance at transfering to a 4 year school.

Any degree is worth more than a high school diploma.
Higher pay
Better qualifications
Better experience and training in a field

Just better chances of getting anywhere for your future.

The point? Pretty much the same as having training wheels on a bike.
