Whatever government agency issued your documents has to verify authenticity.

County or state governments record births and deaths, and when you request a copy, you are asked why you want the document. They will know whether you need a certified copy, or just a copy.

The Social Security administration verifies SSNs, and so on.

A lawyer can get these for you, but you can do it yourself for a lot less money.

See a notary public, and take the original, unaltered document with you, or obtain a certified copy from the place of origin.
