A lot of people think that relationships between cousins are wrong. And, in some states, marriages between first cousins are illegal.

Really though, there are no good reasons against it. In fact, the laws against cousin marriage were NOT passed for health reasons. They were passed to encourage assimilation of immigrants into the rest of the U.S. culture. The United States is the only western country in the world where these laws still exist.

Check out the article at the link below. It would be a shame to miss out on true love because of some outdated notions.

If she is your first cousin than that would be considered incest. I don't know about second or third cousins. You should ask a priest, or a preacher (religious leader), and a lawyer. In many States you would be breaking the law. In most religions you would have committed a grievous sin. Also, interbreeding between close relatives can cause serious birth defects in their children.

Think about how the rest of your family would react. Something like that can destroy a family. Think of others, not just yourself. I know it's easy to give in to the moment, but think of the consequences of your actions, before you act!

I kinda was in this situation once too and now my cousin and I dont talk at all bc we dont want to encourage the attraction anymore. I think what stopped us was that we knew our families would flip out about it and life would be majorly uncomfortable. If we didnt love our families and trust that they could accept it, we probably would have continued, but we werent willing to take the risk. So my answer? It really depends on if you want to risk your family (and others knowing that you are related) from possibly disowning you two.

If you live in Utah, then sure, go for it. I wouldn't suggest it though...that's a member of your family--and what if things didn't work out or she told? No good can come out of that relationship!
