That's why I get my news from PBS, NPR and BBC. They'll tell you when a Republican or Democrat is doing wrong and when they are doing right. BBC is for world news, cause if it doesn't happen in the US it's not that important, is it?
There are some journalists in the employ of major networks who also do reporting for NPR or PBS, mostly stories they probably couldn't get on the air on ABC or CNN.

Actually, a large part of the media's problem is that they don't add any sort of truth filter to the reports that they repeat.

For example:

Bush claimed, in a recent press conference, that the terrorists are against democracy in general and that this is why the attacks are being carried out.

Most media outlets (CNN included) repeated this verbatim without paying attention to any of the facts of the situation.

Fortunately, I heard this report from an NPR reporter (yes, call them liberal all you want, but what he said is a fact) who added comments pointing out that Hamas was democratically elected in Palestine by the people - the international community could find no significant voting irregularities (unlike the past two presidential elections in the US). Hamas is a political party that has been demorcatically elected to governmental positions in Lebanon, as well as elsewhere. Most of the insurgents in Iraq are Iraqi.

These facts obviously poked a big hole in the reasoning of our "Glorious Leader", but were summarily ignored by the main stream media, either because they are too lazy, or because they are afraid of being labeled liberal for reporting on the facts instead of just repeating what they are told.
