His persona is such that he rubs some people the wrong way. He is like the everyday Joe, but he made the dream happen. When he first came ito the WWE I didn't particularly care for his antics pertaining to The Undertaker (Hitting him with that lock he use to wear around his neck) and he came off as just a "JERKISH THUG".
HOWEVER, as he began to define his role more clearly and settled down to a point where he could showcase his wrestling skills I began to respect him more, and now he is one of my favorites. My girlfriend, whom I had just introduced to WWE liked him from day 1 (go figure). She now screams whenever he is beseiged upon by various miscreants in the WWE
To answer your question more directly; PEOPLE HATE CENA because he is a fighting champ, and has never backed down from a challenge. Edge on the other hand is always ducking and I do not see him as a wrestler, just an opportunist who never wrestles one on one. CENA, if he can avoid serious injuries, will be one of the best ever. Too bad THE ROCK isn't still around because I could see the two of them squaring off quite nicely. Even if they didn't square off; Couldn't you see them as WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPS. Now that would be ateam to watch!!!!!
Nothing against the current champs Brian Kendrick & Paul London who are think are very good. However on the other end of the Rectum OOPS, I meant Spectrum The SPIRIT SQUAD ARE A VERY BAD JOKE as WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPS; Vince get a grip!!!!

Because people just get sick and bored and tired of john cena with the fake a** f-u and the gay a** chaingang. I use to be a fan but not anymore he just got more boring and more tiring.

the only reason he used to be champ is becuase hes selling merchandise to girls and kids. thats the only reason, if he turned heel, all u cena fans will turn on him in a second.
