Iraqi Christians are being forced out of their homeland once again. Before the Iran-Iraq War there were over 2 million Iraqi Christians in Iraq and over 100,000 in Iran. Iran now has less than 10,000 Assyrians. They are also known as Chaldean Catholics. They have been in Iraq since the times of Noah. Biblically they are thought to have descended from Ashur the son of Shem who was the son of Noah. They speak Aramaic as their native tongue, not Arabic. It is believed that Abraham was an Aramaean.

I just learned about this situation a few weeks ago when I went to get my car fixed. The manager of the garage had a very familiar accent, and I asked him where he was from, and he replied, "From Iraq. I am a Christian, a Chaldean. I have lost so many friends and family there for so long that I had to get my family out Iraq. I left just before the first gulf war. I am thankful that I was able to leave when I did." And I said, "Well, God bless you then. I am sad over the conflicts in the Eastern world." And he agreed, and thanked me.

emm,, let me see, as far as i know those assyrian christiens are not only in Iraq but in syria they claim to be syrian and iraqies so regarding their situation during the iraq war it should be just the same as any iraqi regardless their religion, a life full of death, fear, no security and lots of blood!!!
You will be surprised to know the number of ethnic minorities and the diversity of religions that do live their peacefully before the war,
another thing is that they speak arabic too.
