Congrats for landing up the job interview...the prospective employer must have seen something in your resume that must have elicited this call...so go with confidence and answer all the questions candidly...if you don't know the answer to something, be upfront...also since you have had no sales experience so far, show them that you are willing to learn and make the best out of it...also show your interest in the dealership by going (if they have one) to their web-site and gathering as much as info as you can before the interview...what I mean to say is be prepared...and don't worry if you don't get it ultimately, always consider it as a learning experience.

Ask, what duties would you be expected to perform...whats the next step in career advancement, what kind of benefits they offer...also look around and see what you can discreetly observe and make up your mind...

Moreover, don't rush in with answers...think, ponder and then answer...if you don't understand the question...ask the interviewer to kindly repeat it and also dress professionally and be there ahead of time.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Dont be nervous at the interview. Make a research of the company and the products to sale, that knowledge can be helpful. Do not get late.

Hmm - the auto world is definitely a "man's" world - so I suggest wear a short skirt. It may sound sexist - but welcome to car sales.

Also spout some BS on how you believe a customer is a customer for life, and you will do your best to promote the service side of the dealership.

What you want to do is to be yourself and have a personality. What you don't want to do is be nervous. Or at least, don't be too nervous. A good salesperson makes you feel comfortable, is easy to talk to, can fluidly change subjects from the business at hand to more personal matters, or the weather, economy, etc, and then back to the business at hand. In other words, it's not all business, it's not all about experience, or you wouldn't have the interview. It's about personality, friendliness, etc.
