The male buds on my pumpkin plant are blooming but the female buds are not. Do I just need more patience?

Male buds always appear first on squash and pumpkins. Men are so eager, eh? And they are absolutely useless (just like men, huh?) You can pick them, stuff them (cream cheese & whatever), sauté them. Mmmm. Once the female blossoms appear, leave everything alone and let nature take its course.

You might just need a little patience. Or you can try more bumble bees that do the pollinating. Also a paint brush (artist Brush) to pollinate them yourself.
