and Matt Dillon gets shot,
before he even gets his gun.
That ain't s'posed to happen!

Hmmmm...this is a total guess but I'm going to say that it is showing Matt Dillon's gun on his right but he was left-handed.
Nope...I just watched another of your Gunsmoke clips and his gun was on the right side in that one so my above answer is wrong. I re-watched it and I'm still not sure. I'm going to say now that he fell before the bullet reached him.
