I know I probably sound, and kinda feel, really shallow for asking this, but I'm bored so I thought that I would ask. So, anyway, I'm 15, I have medium length black hair, brown eyes, kind of pale skin for someone who's mixed, and I dress in a lot of gothic or punk and sometimes emoish clothing.

I also wanted to know why some people think that you can't be goth and gay because I'm both, although noone really knows that I'm the second one.

Well, if I were young enough to have an opinion on someone your age, I'd think you were cute and probably hot. (no that wasn't a disguised pass, no worry). I also would like your style.

I don't think your question is shallow at all. During the teens all of us want or wanted to be accepted and thought of as attractive. It is important to emerging psycho-personality and for our own sense of self-worth and desireability, which have big effects on how we live our lives.

I can't imagine where you live, I'm from the Northeast, and my lover, who has been with me for nearly 15 years now used to goth out and go to clubs when we were younger. There were virtually no STRAIGHT goths, but lots and lots and lots of gay and bisexual ones -- at least among the boys. There still are among the Emos and the Goths. I like gothic music by the way, although I only go to gay clubs -- on the occasions that we go out dancing -- as we will in New Haven next weekend while we visit a mix of straight and gay friends.

In any event. You are awesome and you can do anything you want -- just as you are!!!! (note, once they know you are gay, they will know people can be goth and gay).

Peace, email me if you want someone to listen to you and not judge.

Kind thoughts,

Reyn

Ha. Well first off I'm old enough to be your grandfather's younger brother. So I guess I don't totally get the Goth thing, though its fine with me if thats your thing. I'm not sure about emoish clothing. Is that like the comedian Emo Phillips or whatever? I always thought he was kind of cute in a gay sort of way. He is gay, right?

I'd probably look at you and say, that boy is cute, I'll bet he grows up to be a handsome man. I hope by then he dresses in ways to better show off his good looks!

Um I would think you were a pale skin with medium length black hair, brown eyed young guy who likes to wear goth clothing.
I don't know why people would think if u are into goth you couldn't be gay. Where I'm at it's pretty obvious that you can be into any kind of style and be gay. We have gay thugs, who would have ever figure that?!?!
BE PROUD of who you are f u c k da rest, just as long as you are happy.

First I believe you are suffering from and identity crisis. Your clothing says you are down about life in general. Those who are happy tend to where brighter clothing. Showing their happy moods through their clothing. This is not always true, but most the time.

You are also still in the closet about your sexuality. This is not good. hiding who you really are through clothes and music won't help. I know this is a very hard time in your life but find a direction in your life.

I'm going to suggest you see some sort of physiologist or counselor. Talk to them and help yourself deal with all your emotions. I also suggest coming out to a couple people (close friends). This will help realize some pressure on yourself and give you someone to talk to.

Last lighten up and brighten up. Add a smile to your wardrobe, and maybe a few things with some color. This may help you brighten up your life. Remember last be yourself, don't follow anyone especially your peers. They are probably just as confused about life right now as you are. Good luck

You're the kind of person I would hang out with. I don't judge from appearances, but I generally hang out with darker people (I mean as in clothing--not skin--though I don't care).

And as for why goth people can't be gay, I've got no idea. It seems super stupid to me. Discrimination is at the bottom of it, I'll bet you anything.

And you're not shallow. People want to know what other people see. I don't know why. That's just the way things are.

Same you would probably say about me! I dress similar a lot of times. I have a kind of milky-white pale skin which kind of freaks some people out! ;)

Most days in the hot part of the summer (now) though, I just lay around not leaving my bedroom, not bothering to get dressed up for the day cause the heat would probably kill me! :)

I would not really look at you twice, sorry goth is just not my thing.
I like peeps who can be happy and upbeat goths just look depressed all the time. Life is to short to go through it unhappy. I dress to reflect a happy spirit and tend to attract those kinds of people to me.
