well, sometimes good people make bad decisions.
If the bad thing is completely unrelated to a bad decision that person made, it is usually due to a bad decision that someone else made.

Bad things happen to everyone. It's a part of life. We have to be able to deal with bad things in order to fully appreciate what great things we DO have. Life is about learning and growing as a person. Everything, bad and good, is a learning experience that we are able to grow from to become better people.

There's good and evil. There's always evil around, that's why we suffer pain and cy and feel sadness. Our world is structured that way where nothing is ever peaceful, there has to be something that messes it up. Bad things happen to good people, because good people are good and can't live in peace all the time. They're always good and so whatever that happens to them they call bad. Are there really good people?

Hi! This is taken from my 360 blog.
Throughout time, many have wondered why the nicest people tend to suffer the most. The answer lies within the understanding that those "nice" people have the greatest potential and capacity for being the vessels of unconditional LOVE. Those who suffer the most, have more sympathy, empathy, gentleness etc. to give. Awareness is the first step.
The flip side of suffering is compassion. Take care! :P

Since good and bad things happen to good and bad people, it would seem normal?

If you find out let me know. I feel the same way. I work, take care of my kids, I treat people very well, and it seems like I always have a cloud over my head.
I do believe in Karma, but I have already paid for my sins from my past (10 times over) .
Maybe someday I can shake this rain from my head, and dance happily in the sunshine with my children.
BTW I am blessed with two happy and healthy little ones, so I am grateful for that.

You imply they are good however
Karma is a funny thing and it measures differently.
Things happen to people because they forget what they do or have done in the past

because random events tend to happen at random and not care weither you are good or bad.
Also dumb people seem to be nicer and happier then smart people. Smart people seem to be better at getting out of bad situations and avoiding them in the first place. that might be a big part of it.
Ignorance may be bliss but it wont keep you from killing yourself in a stupid way.

I don't think there is one good answer to this question. I think bad things happen to bad people and good people..and good things happen to both good and bad people.
Karma.. what comes around goes around.. but does it really? and for those who believe they've already paid for they're sins.. have they? can you really pay for your sins? who can make that determination.. god? you? the law?.. who knows..
