My van runs fine after it is jump started, but will not even try to start when I turn the key. The battery is fine because the lights work and the indicator lights work when the key is in. What is wrong and how can I fix it?

corosion on a batery terminal will let some voltage in your starter taked 150 to 200 amps this will cause it to spark and break the conection you can see this as the battrey is in a hole its dark in there remove the terminal clean both sides use water and small brush to claen put it back on tight and it should work fine

if you have a test light use it on the posts of the batert if the batery plate inside the batery is broke it will do the same thing and it will need a new batery light should stay on when you crank it = batt ok off = bad batt
buy a interstate battery there the best call 1800 crankit for nerest dealer

Clean the battery terminals and connectors and also the connections at the starter. If it still does it you need a new battery.

It just sounds like a loose connection. Its causing enough power to get to your lights and such, but not enough amperage is getting to the starter to start it. check your battery/starter connections.

You might want to try it with another battery, you have a problem in there.
