Drink Driving is bad enough. But Racism too. And he is supposed to be a Catholic Christian Role Model?
This is a bit like Rodney King in reverse?
Mel Gibson said something like "All the Wars in the World are the Fault of the Jews and Israel." This is the same Anti-Semitic rubbish that GOOD CATHOLIC ADOLF HITLER spouted.
He also called the female officer "Sugar ****"!!! Believe it or not Yahoo won't print my 4 letter word beginning with T and ending ts.
He is an Anti-Semite Bigot who got away with it for far too long. Hutton Gibson his father is a well known Anti Semite Bigot and Holocaust Denier member of Catholic sect OPUS DEI.
Mel Gibson is even starting to take on an uncanny resemblence to Mad Bad Saddam Hussein - Just look at the picture on www.tmz.com.
And Mel Gibson has the chutzpah to make a mini series on the Holocaust.
Alcohol is obviously a good Truth serum.

PS If Mel Gibson aired similar views about African Americans, Chinese or Muslims EVERYONE would be outraged.
PPS I am DISGUSTED at all you LATENT Anti-Semitic and Racist Apologists on this site who have FAILED to CONDEMN Mel Gibson for his Disgraceful Behaviour and Outburst. He is supposed to be a Catholic ROLE MODEL and "devout" Catholic and Christian - but has displayed nothing but HATRED.
By saying Nothing and "Turning a Blind Eye" you ALL condone his behaviour, beliefs and ideas. This is exactly what happened in NAZI GERMANY. BAD THINGS HAPPEN WHEN GOOD PEOPLE SAY AND DO NOTHING.
SHAME ON ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE FAILED TO CONDEMN MEL GIBSON.
PPPS Red_Chrome you are an Anti-Semitic scumbag. Show us your Avatar!

Mel's been fighting his 'demon's' for a long time. He's battled alcoholism for most of his life. No one ever is 'cured' from alcoholism, but are forever 'recovering' alcololics. I'm sad for him and I hope that he can pull through. I think he's a good man but definitely needs to deal with certain things from his past. He has done a TON of good. I suppose "let he who is without sin cast the
first stone."
P.S. you cannot convict someone on their opinions, btw. You can choose not to support them or to speak out against them...but his words where not illegal (well, at least here in the USA...it's called Freedom of Speech. Lord knows many others use that to say things about conservatives.)

Mel said that the jews are responsible for most of the wars in this world, he also said he didnt like them and that they were in too many peoples pockets.
Personally i think it was funny fkn hilarious!!
One fundamental condeming another - cos thats all religious people do these days.
Im sure that Mel will be alright, so he is an alcholic? We gonna blame the mans personal views on drink. If you dont like a bunch of people - then you just dont like them
The police DIDNT like Rodney King and they got away with it, I hope Mel Gibson gets to make many more films and that he gets away with it like LAPD got away with their opnions

I suspect that he's a tad annoyed about what's going on right now between israel and Lebanon and the way the UK & USA are just sort of letting israel get on with it. I am not Arab/Moslem/Jew anything like that, just a western TV viewer. israel is behaving disproportionally.
AND - he wasn't "bladdered" (as a previous answerer said), he was over the legal limit - this is like having had three beers instead of two, not half a gallon of Old Jack.
I have no time whatsoever for Mel's chosen faith, but in this case (the comment) he is not out of order. (for the drinking, maybe he is out of order, but it's a slap on the wrist, not a jail sentence)

Mel Gibson does not like Jews. Mel Gibson does not like official Church. Mel Gibson does not like those that do not share his crazy views. Actually, who cares?
Just read the article on the topic "Mel Gibson and the Jews":

putting aside what he said, I find it mindbending that the Police released what he said to the public domain the way they did. apart from the fact this is part of a pending prosecution to drag someone over the coals like that is despicable. It was obviously a drunken rant. The police are supposed to protect and serve. They didnt protect poor Mel in this situation, they threw him to the lions.

I wish we had the quote so we could discuss it. I think any anti-semitism is not particularly surprising from him given his recent Passion movie, but I also wish the hearthrobs of my youth would stop jumping off the deep end.

nicely for starters Messianic Jews at the instant are not Jews they are truly a well known Evangelical flow that integrated Mosaic regulations into their ideals and use Jewish terminology and practices. till now Christians have been talked approximately as Christians they have been the Nazarene (aka. followers of ways) wherein they accompanied the classes of Jesus which became taught by the Apostles and accompanied the ordinances of Mosaic regulation that's till ultimately St. Paul arrived through fact past till now St. Paul the Gentile (Non-Jewish) converts have been forced to stay with the ordinances of Mosaic regulation. there have been Jewish converts yet no longer that a lot of them through fact maximum Jews considered the Nazarene as being heretics that's why i urge human beings to study the e book of Acts, the Apostles have been rejected by the Jews and have been kicked out of their synagogues. and of direction no longer many Gentiles (Non-Jews) have been changing through fact they have been forced to stay with the ordinances of Mosaic regulation. while St. Paul arrived he taught them that Jesus had fulfilled the Mosaic regulation for them that they have been no longer sure by the ordinances of Mosaic regulation for those regulations have been made for the individuals of Israel decrease than the previous Covenant. nicely there became a divide interior the Nazarene those that regular the classes of St. Paul could be talked approximately as the Christians. people who rejected the classes of St. Paul could proceed to be the Nazarene yet through fact they rejected the classes of St. Paul an Apostle chosen by Jesus Himself that they had lost the Apostolic Succession. Now while this transition taken place there have been some that no longer forced the ordiencence of Mosaic regulation upon others yet they themselves endured to stay with those ordienances they have been talked approximately as the Hebrew Christians like what St. Paul became a Hebrew Christian. those that did no longer persist with the ordinances of Mosaic regulation have been your Christians. in case you study the Paulin Epistles interior the hot testomony they actually discourage following the ordinances of Mosaic regulation. at present there are Hebrew Catholics that stay in Israel. The Catholic Church made an exception for them being that they are Jewish converts yet they did no longer want to desert following the ordinances of Mosaic regulation.
