I am (and have been) in bands all my life... Groupies are part of the gig. If you are the one he is involved with, then have enough trust in him to come home to you. Being involved with a musician is hard enough... Groupies, press, drugs, shady promoters, bad venues, etc. Trust me, it isn't all glamour. If you have a relationship, trust in that. Stop getting uptight over what other girls do. He will appreciate you MORE for that. Just tell him you are concerned, but that you trust him. Then don't 'harp' on it all the time.
Also- It doesn't matter where you get your appetite...as long as you eat at home. (My father, who was also in a band, taught me this)

My husband doesn't play in a band. But my boyfriend does. Just kidding!!! :) I don't have a bf.

Groupies hang around the band cause the band likes the groupies. It makes the band look better. Would you rather listen to a band that had no one following them?? NO, because you would think they were no good. Groupies are needed.

My brother is in a band, and i'm really defensive over him, he's young yet. Groupies are highly benificial to a band, and their image actually. BUT, i still dotn like them.
Groupies are usually people with low selfesteem that use a band or a certain person to fill in a void in their life. They follow a band around, that will play the same songs, and they wear the same clothes, and buy all the gear.
But they also, hand out flyers, tell their friends how good the band is, introduce new friends to the fan base of the band.

They think they have some special, because they are closer to the band than the other fans are... It's like, if your boss walks into the room, and says hi to you first, pauses, and makes a generalizational hi to everyone else....
or if a friend remembers your birthday, but not their other friend's birthday.

It gives them a self of need, and feeling like they are a part of something, they cant be IN the band, but they can be aroudn the band....

If youre worried the female groupies might take advantage of your partner, if he is in a band, Think to yourself, if your partner, is that low, and cares more about 'free sex' with someone who only wants them because they are in a band, and doens't care about THEM. then it's not worth it, no matter what. You trust and support that person, you dont need that kind of aggrevation..

But typically, the wife, or girlfriend, is usually the BIGGEST groupie. ;)

Hubby was a drummer for a popular local top 40 band. He was just himself around the others. Groupies are desperate for attention and waiting to ride the coattails of anyone that gets some attention.

Hi! I'm a female musician, and I have had ex-boyfriends who are also musicians. It doesn't matter what style of music it is, there are always groupies, no matter how big or small the scene. I'm a local musician, but have had several high-profile concerts within my genre of music. If you must know, please don't laugh, i'ts mariachi music! Well, I think all of these groupie girls that I see around just want to feel like they are famous or want a taste of it and want to be a part of it so they throw themselves at these guys feeding into these horrible stereotypes about women. I love to hear live music and I generally have an aversion to going out to hear some local musicians I know and like, because I feel like they guys in these groups feel like all the girls like them and wanna "hook up". It really sux! But I think it's like that everywhere!

well i use to date a guy that sang in a band..but i had one child by him...i find them to be unfaithful.. i knew other guys in the band and they did the same thing to their wives ... but i do not know why groupies hang around either..and i do not see anything special about them.. i would never date anyone in a band again though.. i know that for sure..maybe they are trying to get someone in the band to notice them...you have to consider that idea anyway...

The thing is if you become some random underground band's groupie and they hit the mainstage you'll be there saying "I was there the day they made that song" or something like it.

No he doesn't, sorry. But I know what you are speaking of. It is very hard to handle the groupies. Musicians have plenty of opportunity to cheat and there is nothing you can do to stop it. So you just have to ask yourself what to do if it happens. I do not envy you.

They do have something. Come on... Everybody deserves to feel important. Nature of man. Why not ? Groupies are just simple people who need to feel important !!!

My wife loves it when the groupies are all over... make her feel good cause she knows that she is going home with me.
Life it too short for jealousy.
