You are asking a yes/ no question that does not have a yes/no answer. You always have to take into account the fact that you are dealing with children. Would you have been able to understand as a child, or want to for that matter, all the truth you now know as a n adult.

Are you saying that in 2002 I should have told my kids that George Bush was a great president, just because most of America thought so? Sheesh! I hope not. They would have grown to think I was an idiot.

Why even raise them if you aren't going to share the truth as you see it?

Now, if you mean by 'truth' religious opinoin, well, that's a whole nother matter! Telling your kids humans walked with dinosaurs will subject them to ridicule, but you aren't telling them the truth, you'd be teaching myth as fact.

I've always told my kids what I think and what other's think. I show them how to research, so they can form their own opinions.

Yes honesty is the most important thing. What a child picks up out in the world can be a miss leading as, babies are found under cabbage leaves. Depending on the age of the child and their ability to understand and cope, yes, be truthful.

Not sure what we are talking about here. I would say that the truth is always the best answer. There are a few things that bend it, like the Easter bunny and Santa but kids grow out of that early on.

I guess that depends on what truth you're telling them, the kids ages, how important it is for you.
Sometimes it is most important to stand up for Truth.
Sometimes, if its something that just doesnt matter, you may want to just let it go.
