I I moved to a new town and apparently I'm expected to be the newest starting lineman on my new eleven-man team, only problem, I just came from 3rd string on an eight-man! so I really need alot of advice about how to be ready for this. I already attend the summer program, and we start three-a-days August 8th, and they run til the 16. All I know about my position is that I will be either a Guard or a Tackle, some drills would be nice. I don't exactly understand how the field is set up with the extra people either, so, in a nutshell, Im in the dark, and I need some help understanding this change up.

Listen tom,
One of the best things you can do is work on holding your stance. Next to blocking that is the most important thing you can do. Start off small by just squatting and holding it there for as long as you can. Then work on your technique. You need to keep ur back straight as a table, DO NOT put all your weight on your hand that is the worst thing you can do. After you get that down run lots and lots and lots and lots of 40 yard dashes to get you ready for the rigors of three a days. It will also help with your speed and explosiveness off the line. Now the last thing you need to do is really look at ur playbook and understand ur blocking assignments. from one lineman to another this is what u need to do.

I hope this helps

Hey man much respect on doing this first of all it is hard to switch schools as well as play sports. I personally have never played on the offensive line but as a fairly decent devensive tackle i can tell you what would make a good offensive linemen....for the few there were haha sorry had to do it.....1. stay low never let them get lower they have more power 2. keep them close.... easier to get that jersey with out the ref seeing it...... 3. be explosive off of the ball no hesitation better to get an offside here and there than having yourself blown back by hesitation.... plus get that DT in front of you with a fast step and most likely you will get underneath him...... 4. never turn sideways with out keeping him on your chest, you turn and keep him away from your chest he will throw your arms away and smash the back field.....5. alwayspay attention to what is happening around you....... When i played i would get the offensive linemen that would only worry about me so while i was giving him hell i would also slam him in the back field beacuse all he could focus on was gettin even with me.......follow these few steps plus spend alot of time on lower body and you will make some poor DT's life a living hell good luck kid...
