Depends on the age, same as with straight people. My partner and I have been together for nearly 15 years -- most of the gay guys we know are either in relationships or want to be. On the other hand, when I was 14, 15, 16, 17 -- maybe up to about 22 or so, I had a b/f but I also had sex outside that relationship because the hormones, whether you are gay or straight -- are crazy at that age, and quite frankly that's normal.
As for a** sex. Well, somewhere between 40 and 50% of gays have a** sex. The rest stick to the various other variaties. On the other hand, a substantive portion of straight bois also like a** sex -- do a poll and find out how many girls have boyfriends that like their fingers up their a** or a strapon. You'll be quite surprised I think.
Regards,
Reyn

I'll be honest, the percentage is going to change REALLY dramatically with age subset. College age: there really aren't too many people looking for a relationship. there's some, but not alot. Either it's sex, or they're just not looking for anything. Shortly after college, I'd guess it's more of the same. Past 30 I think people start growing up. ::sigh::

I am a f.g and although I am not promiscuous, I can tell you that over 99% want sex and are not interested in a relationship. By the way, gay relationships are a f...g joke. Most gays I know are nothing but spineless whores. Sorry gay boys, I speak from past experience. Perhaps if you learn to keep your pants on, who knows, someday you might be allowed to marry!
Masb1987: I hate to say this, but you summed it up pretty good and so relevant because most gay boys are promiscuous and brainless smokers. There is a twofold message in your comment. Well done!

Well what do you want?
Your question leaves out a percentange that would answer no to both sub-questions you assert. But nonetheless, I think gay people are like straight people. Most want to find someone special, but some don't. Many who are looking, in the meantime will have sex with others. It's not always your A$$ sex as you see it, but then you see the world differently don't you?

About the same percentage of straight men who want a relationship compared to the percentage of straight men who just want to "nail the hot chick" at the bar.
