Mags F, like other people, do not understand that we may not feel the effects of global warming, but our children and grandchildren will. These are the people who need to see the immediate effects to believe that it is a real threat. Ironically, these are also the people who criticize atheists for wanting proof of God's existence.

Why do you believe it? Here are the facts, straight from the scientific "experts" that say it is real:

1. Roughly 10,000 years ago, we were in an ice age. Global temperatures rose, and the ice age ended. There was no industrial revolution at the time, no human emissions.

2. The highest recorded temperatures in human history were between 900AD and 1400AD. Again, no industrial revolution, no emissions.

3. The largest increase in CO2 emissions was during and right after World War 2. From the 1940s to the 1970s we were in a massive cooling period that had every "expert" predicting a new ice age.

These are facts presented by people that espose Global Warming. Is it warming? Probably. Do humans have any influence on it? Nope. The facts show that the Earth has heated and cooled countless times over the millenia, and human influence can in no way be proven.

They don't want to acknowledge a problem with what is making them rich.

Money is the root of all evil.

And Republicans dance with the devil.

And you are feeling the effects of Global Warming with a record heat wave all across the country.

Wait 10 more years. Houston is going to have crazy Thunderstorms that cover the whole city. Florida, and anyone at sea level, will already be looking for a new home as the waters will already be engulfing all beaches.

Its going to get worse... like crazy worse.

See we are at the end of an ice age. So the world is going to get warmer anyway.

So with our extra carbon emissions we are allowing for what would happen over 10,000 years to happen in around 100.

And the earth is not going to handle it well.

I am a republican, I do not think that our globe is warming. I believe that today's "doom and gloom" mongerers are trying to cause panic that is based on emotion and not on facts. Weather is cyclical. Some weather cycles last a few years, some weather cycles last dozens of years. The midwest this summer is experiencing high temperatures, but here in the south, it hasn't gotten as hot as it usually does. Before anyone panics about the weather, you need to turn off the TV, ignore Al Gore and do the research yourself. Both sides of the issue have their own scientists and experts. Start reading and doing your own thinking.

Republicans are well aware of global warming and are taking steps to control it, including encouragement and funding of "green" energy sources, insulation, electrical peak shedding and other steps too numerous to mention, despite the generally ill-informed and largely politically motivated griping by yourself and other liberals. What makes you think that liberals lead the effort? And what makes you think that Republicans aren't the mainstream America? I have spent a long technical career at the cutting edge of producing energy savings for heavy industry. What have YOU personally done?

Well they say cow farts and burps are causing greenhouse gases. So much so that they paid to do a study on the matter. Thousands of years ago, before the human population explosion, bison, cows, and other similar animals numbered in the millions. All creating these greenhouse gases, and the world seems to have survived. The animals sadly didn't, only because of human greed. What I am trying to say is, that humans are not causing global warming.

Ha ha ha that is a good point. Most republicans that I know think that I am crazy! They have been conditioned to think that it is a conspiracy or just propoganda. I think that Bill O'Reilly told them that. That is what I heard somewhere. Anyway, good luck to us on trying to break that barier. It will probably be too late. Oh well, I think we should just plan for it. There is really nothing that we can do about it at this point. Sorry. I am usually in optimism about things, but this is going to be the downfall of the world. Sorry again.

there is no global warming that I've noticed...isn't it normal for it to be 100 degrees in Wisconsin? And not go below zero in the winter?

As I write this, I'm saving electricity by frying an egg on the sidewalk, SO THERE you environmentalists

Sea level will rise by 5 feet in the next 10 years, the stupid NEOKONS won't be able to deny global warming when their beach homes are flooded every week of the year, the stupid anti-science NEOKONS will wake up then.

No.

It's a fact that the earth is warming.

The question is how much of it is it from humans or is it a natural cycle?

That question can't really be answered with 100% accuracy.
