It's been awhile since I was in college so maybe the requirements have changed. When I was an undergrad, we were required to take 4 semesters of PE as part of the general ed requirement.

However, there are lots of choices today to make the whole thing less painful. They offer everything from archery to regular sports to yoga. You're bound to find something you can handle.

My University didn't require PE. I was happy cuz I tend to be lazy. Then I ended up taking kick boxing and bowling. Both counted as Fitness and Health classes.

I had to because of my major (education). It was fun, not physically demanding at all. We got to study physical education from the perspective of educators, and we designed games and planned curriculum to teach PE classes. We had to learn some basic stuff like how to dribble a basketball, how to throw a football (making it spin), etc. Stuff that I never would have learned otherwise.

Depends. Many public colleges require it, usually for one semester.

Most colleges offer a wide range of PE electives, like tennis, golf, horseback riding, field hockey, weight lifting, aerobics, yoga, et cetera.

I had to take a half semester course called "Health and Wellness" that was part health information and part P.E./exercise. It's usually not a big deal in college.

I'm not required to take it with my degree though I know some friends who are, I think some of our coaches require athletes to take a class to keep them in shape in the off season.
