we, as Americans, can be a bit self-absorbed in our own thoughts and problems most times. Its not that we don't care, its that we simply don't have time to care. 9/11 effected us all and for one brief moment everybody's biggest problem was the same as everybody elses. Major events, wheather they be tragic or glorious can bring groups of people with sharred interests together. Its the same in a small town whos sports team is vying for a championship. Residents of the town are brought together by the team they support doing something special. In the case of 9/11, we were all brought together as Americans by something epicly tragic.

I disagree. I think 9-11 has made people less tolerant and more suspicious of one another due to fear. Perhaps in the very beginning people helped out, but generally during a disaster, that is what people do. It didn't take long for people to begin ignoring others in need.

9-1-1 has made alot of people decide to change for the better. but some of us haven't changed at all. like thise if us who did good and right by people before 9-1-1 and we will continue well after until death. we live in a very selfish world. people have the I syndrome.we all need to be a little more loving and concerned for mankind.

Sometimes, yeah it does take tragedy for nice things to begin to happen. It make you realize how quickly everything can be gone from your life. Losing something make you realize you can lose more things... If you never experienced loss, then you don't ever expect it.

don't know where you have been, but i don't think it made anyone nicer.... have you not read some of the mean **** people write on here, when people are just seeking kind words of advise... instead you have people calling strangers sluts and whores and stuff... how dare people judge someone looking for a friend to help them through! Sorry, just needed to express that. thanks ... lol.... hope you have a great day and get nicer replys to your answers than most of us on here!

I dunno. We should be kind to our countrymen all the time because we're all Americans. We are united by our culture and ideals.
