You do not define "really high blood pressure." Normal is about 120/80. High normal is consider up to 139/89, beyond that is generally considered high blood pressure. B/P by design elevates in response to various stresses we put on the body by doing just day-to-day things...standing up, running, having an orgasm...all change you blood pressure - and that's normal.
Having said all of that it is highly unusual for a 14 year old to have high blood pressure in the least. I would seek additional investigation of this matter through a pediatric cardiologist (referral via your primary doctor is probably necessary). I am suspicious there is something going on with your kidneys or some possibly with one of the main vessels in your body. Both are things that can be corrected.
As far as long term (20 to 30 years of high blood pressure) - high blood pressure can lead to heart problems, strokes, eye disease, kidney disease, erectile dysfunction, and a variety of other things that have to do with adequate or inadequate blood supply throughout the body.
Good luck.

You don't say what your "high blood pressure" is, so, the only thing anyone can say is "YES, you are at risk for lots of complications." Heart attack, stroke and diabetes are only a few of the possibilities. You need to take prescribed medications, maintain health condition - diet and exercise program, monitor your bp and get regular checkups. At 14 you should not have high blood pressure. So, go to your family doctor and do what's necessary.

Your blood pressure should not be above 140/90. If it is, you are putting yourself at risk. If you are African American you are also at higher risk for developing Heart disease or Diabetes. Do a 5 day blood pressure check, and give the results to your doctor so they can determine what is wrong .

Do you think you have high blood pressure or have you been to the doctor about it? If you haven't been to the doctor, you need to go. If you have and you have questions....call their office!
