If they are decent, I give em a buck or two. They are probably trying to make rent. America has no respect for musicians or artists until they "make it". Otherwise they starve trying to launch their career. On average it takes 10 years to become an "Overnight success" and a tremendous amount of work and comittment to have success.

I luv to c em. Here in India u get to c lotsa of ppl like that playin music in the street to make ends meet. I pay them money if i have some. Most of the times i carry my wave recorder along with me. So if i hear some nice sounds n tunes from ppl like this i stop by n ask them to play for me. I sit with them n record few sounds which i later use as samples in my Trance production. Its pretty cool. Instead of u gettin an A.S.S to play that freakin flute for 1000 bucks..., u can pay these guys a 100 they would b happy to play for u the whole day. The sadest part is .... all these guys who play in the streets here in India r physically chalenged i.e they r blind or.. they r lame... or they have some f.u.c.k.i.n prob with their body.

I enjoy raw music. It doesn't get much more raw than someone playing in the street. To me, that is the "true artist". If they are good, you hope they get noticed and keep that same heart and soul they showed on the street.
