I do not believe in name calling or mud slinging. So I just “play nice” to some people. However, they feel that you are an open target they can attack and be cruel.

Sorry, but from me doing that, I know...people are going to keep doing it. The thing is, you have to SOMEWAY [I do it] put up something there to show people that you are not weak, but you are also wise when it comes to dealing with people. You don't have to be loud, belligerent, and getting on peoples cases all of the time. But when you have something to say, speak up A LITTLE, not alot, because that right there will just make you look like some drama-queen and it will attract the people that want to attack anyways to test you. the people that are attacking
don't be afraid to walk by them or even close to them, you probably have too, but I used to avoid people that always gave me bull and never went or walked by them. I didn't want drama. . They get intimdated and know for sure now that you're not scared. Little do you know, they won't do anything.
Don't be afraid to look at them when they are giving you a look.
Be confident when you are in their view, holding back who you are because of one around you makes you look scared, just be you.
Now if you KNOW these people, you have to snap back a little. Trust me it will work.

People can be cruel. You don't have to play into it, though. If someone says something mean to you, don't react emotionally. Just look puzzled for a moment and then say something like, "I wonder why you think it necessary to say something like that. " It's a statement, so you are not asking for an answer, and if they keep talking ugly to you, you can repeat as often as necessary, until they give up trying to hurt you.

I am like you. but over the years I have been run over by so many "you know whats" I have learned that it makes me feel better only briefly to tell them how I feel and get it off my chest, but every time I do it only gives them fuel to treat me bad and call me names again. i just stay home take CARE of my family write and help my husband with the business. I stay away from all the baddies. They are just insecure them selves and they know you won't kick their butt.

I'm in the same situation. All I think about when they start targeting me is God. I pray for the words to say as they start opening their mouth and say nice things to them and don't let it get to you. God has a plan in store for you and just let him handle them.

Dont be friends with them. And if you dont stand up for yourself (and yes, you can do that without calling ppl names) then everyone is going to walk all over you for the rest of your life. Break out of that shell now or you may regret it later.

Just ignore them and they will get tired of it and leave you alone...they are just doing it to upset you, but once they see you don't care they will stop
